Acuvue Oasys MAX for Astigmatism Product Review Video

New Technology Blue Light Contact Lenses

The innovative design of the ACUVUE® OASYS MAX disposable contact maintains maximum comfort and clarity while providing advanced blue light protection.

The next generation of ACUVUE® Multifocal Contact Lenses, ACUVUE® OASYS MAX 1-Day multifocal, provides an unprecedented combination1 of innovative technologies for those with presbyopia:

  • TearStable™ Technology, which reduces evaporation and prolongs tear-film stability
  • OptiBlue™ Light Filter
  • Blink Stabilized® Design

TearStable™ Technology

When we concentrate on something, our blink rate goes down. If we blink less as we concentrate on a screen, our tears evaporate more.

This can lead to dry and irritated eyes after working on digital devices. This is especially true for the contact lens wearer.

Contacts require more moisture to remain comfortable. ACUVUE® has added moisture with TearStable™ Technology to the Oasys MAX 1-Day to maintain this greater moisture content of the lens.

TearStable™ Technology uses a new process of distributing a wetting agent not only on the surface of the contact lens, but also throughout the entire lens. By doing so, there is greater tear stability and less tear evaporation, which results in increased moisture and comfort.

OptiBlue™ Light Filter

When we turn fluorescent lights on, they emit a greater amount of higher-energy blue light than a “soft” light bulb in a bedside lamp. These different lighting conditions have significantly different impacts on our eyes, which over time, can impact vision clarity. That is why at night, before we go to sleep, this “soft” lighting is more comfortable to our vision.

In fact, it has been proven that excess blue light within an hour before bedtime can disturb our depth of sleep.

However, in today’s world, our problem with blue light is not from fluorescent lights, it is from continued use of digital devices. Continuous use of digital devices proves uncomfortable for many users.

The Oasys Max 1-Day OptiBlue™ Light Filter has been specifically designed by Acuvue to block this bothersome high energy visible blue-violet light. This unique filter provides the comfort of a “soft” light while working on a digital device.

Blink Stabilized® Design

This is the amazingly trusted design already in place with other astigmatism/toric lenses from ACUVUE. This design does not require the lens to be inserted “upright”- as it is not a “weighted” fit.. This lens nicely “tucks” itself into the upper and lower lid increasing comfort, decreasing spin, and not creating any undesired prismatic effects like other weighted fit designs are susceptible to.

Again, this design utilizes the lids to maintain stability of the lens on the eye. The lens fits into the lids to stop the lens from rotating. This is important because astigmatism has two powers in them, situated ninety degrees from each other. If the powers are not aligned on the eye in the correct orientation, then vision will not be clear.
